&lt;p&gt;Join us for a panel discussion and Q&amp;amp;A with seasoned volunteers who will share their experiences getting involved, what they&amp;#8217;ve learned, and their advice on how to find a volunteer path that fits.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We&amp;#8217;ll also have time for our &amp;#8220;add hot water and stir&amp;#8221; instant noodle mixing when you can get to know people doing interesting things in the community, meet people w&lt;span class="text_exposed_show"&gt;ho want to get more involved, and share ideas/opportunities.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ben Hum&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Benjamin Hum is one of the founding partners and serves as Chief Operating Officer of Xystar Technologies where he plays a key role in overseeing strategic partnerships, International corporate development, and operations. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In 2000, Benjamin co-founded the North American Association of Asian Professionals-Toronto (NAAAP Toronto) and currently serves as President. As one of the fastest growing Canadian Chapters of the National Association of Asian American Professionals, NAAAP Toronto is a non profit association with a focus on fostering leadership, community involvement and workforce diversity awareness.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Benjamin&amp;#8217;s most recent prior experiences include being member of the advisory committee for Enterprise Toronto, City of Toronto Economic Development Office, the Progress Career Planning Institute Cultural Intelligence Advisory Council, co-founder of Global Connexxions Inc., recipient of the 1998 Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurship Best Business Startup Awards, and co-founder of United Nations Trade Point Toronto.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-GB" xml:lang="EN-GB"&gt;Victoria Shen&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-GB" xml:lang="EN-GB"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-GB" xml:lang="EN-GB"&gt;Victoria is a labour and human rights lawyer. She is an active supporter of the arts, women’s rights, youth programs, and labour. She has sat on a number of Boards including the Chinese Canadian National Council (Past President, Toronto Chapter), Asian Canadian Labour Alliance, and Mayworks (Chair, Programming).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-GB" xml:lang="EN-GB"&gt;Prior to her legal career, she worked extensively in the public sector and occasionally in radio, television and print. &lt;/span&gt;She currently works as a staff lawyer at the Human Rights Legal Support Centre.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Victoria has been on the Board of Reel Asian since September 2008.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"&gt;André Goh&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"&gt;André Goh is the Manager of Diversity Management for the Toronto Police Service. Widely considered a leading expert on organizational change and diversity and inclusion, Mr. Goh has authored several publications and journals. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"&gt;André received his MA from Ryerson University, Canada and has served on the boards of several organizations including, the Community One Foundation, Toronto; DiverseCity Steering Committee, Toronto; Diversity Leadership Advisory Committee, Centennial College Toronto; Ontario Chiefs of Police Diversity Committee, Ontario; Serving With Pride, Ontario; Canadian Speaker for The Dominion Institute Canada; Asian Community AIDS Services; Toronto; City of Toronto Mayor&amp;#8217;s Committee on Community and Race Relations; Toronto; Anti-Racism National Network, Australia; National Ethnic Council on Law Enforcement, Australia and National Asian Community Network, Australia.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"&gt;Ken Chan&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"&gt;Ken’s professional life has been devoted to public service. After completing his university studies on the west coast, Ken moved to Toronto in 1998. Currently the Chief of Staff to Ontario&amp;#8217;s Minister of Natural Resources, his background in government has spanned both Canada and the United Kingdom. He has served as an advisor in the office of London Mayor Boris Johnson, as an Assistant Director with the UK Department for Business, as Policy Director to Ontario&amp;#8217;s Deputy Premier and Health Minister, and as a police officer in the Region of Peel.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"&gt;In Toronto, Ken was on the United Way of Greater Toronto’s Allocations Review Panel and the Board of Directors and Credit Committee of Alterna Savings, Ontario’s second largest credit union. While still at university, he was appointed by the British Columbia Minister of Health to serve on the Richmond Regional Health Board. Ken was a candidate for Toronto City Council in the ward of Toronto Centre – Rosedale in the 2010 municipal elections. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US"&gt;During his undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University, Ken was active in campus politics and was elected as the student representative on the University’s Board of Governors and Senate. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&amp;#8212;&amp;#8212;&amp;#8212;&amp;#8212;&amp;#8212;&amp;#8212;&amp;#8212;&amp;#8212;&amp;#8212;-&lt;br/&gt;&lt;strong&gt;About Instant Noodle&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Instant Noodle is a new volunteer-run effort to support those looking to get more involved in the place where they live. We aim to promote voluntarism and civic engagement in a fun and accessible way by bringing together leaders, volunteers, activists, and community members to share advice, opportunities, and connections. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Formed in 2011, we held our launch &amp;#8220;Instant Noodle Mix&amp;#8221; networking event in April in North York. In September, we&amp;#8217;re organizing a panel of seasoned volunteers in downtown Toronto to share how they became involved. Our following event will be in Markham.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;We like civic participation, giving back, working toward change, food, and building networks.
